How COD helped her get there?

​

Daniella knew she wanted to pursue a career that afforded her new challenges and adventures every day. Her interest in firefighting and College of the Desert’s fire technology program, combined with the opportunity to take classes for free for two years through plEDGE, practically made the decision for her.

 

She began pursuing an associate’s degree in fire technology as a full-time student after high school. She also competed as a student athlete on the Roadrunner’s softball team her first year. Time management proved to be challenging early on, but through practice and effort she figured out how to keep up with the rigors of college and prioritize her time.

 

She is now preparing for the fire academy and looking forward to completing her degree in spring 2025.
