Aramis's Story
How COD helped her get there?
Aramis began her journey at College of the Desert in 2023, right out of high school. Despite limited resources to pay for college, Aramis was motivated to continue her education because her mother had worked so hard to provide for their family.
Programs like plEDGE and Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) have helped reduce financial barriers to college and made it possible for Aramis to pursue a degree in journalism. While working towards a career as on-air correspondent and radio host, she has interned with KESQ and contributed to the Chaparral Newspaper. She has also volunteered at several places including FIND Food Bank.
She highly recommends new students get involved on campus, an example she has set through her involvement in the Rotaract Club, COD Dance Dy’Nasty Club and Roadrunner Radio.
