How COD helped him get there?

​

Alex, knowing the pain of losing a loved one to drug abuse, is pursuing an associate’s degree for transfer in Psychology. Since achieving a certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies along with an associated degree at College of the Desert, Alex has desired to expand his expertise and pursue a transfer degree in psychology.

 

Currently working as the Program Director/Administrator of a 92-bed residential facility in Palm Springs, he wants to help others break patterns of addiction and avoid the tragedy he endured. 

 

Alex has found College of the Desert’s online and hybrid classes very helpful as he juggles work, being a father of four, and school. Financial aid and grants have also helped bridge the gap between where he is and his goal of completing his degree in May 2025.
